Who likes Puns?

Here are the 10 first place winners in the International Pun Contest:

1. A vulture boards an airplane, carrying two dead raccoons. The flight attendant looks at him and says, "I'm sorry, sir, only one carrion allowed per passenger."

%26gt;

%26gt;2. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says "Dam!”

%26gt;

%26gt;3. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it immediately sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.

%26gt;

%26gt;4. Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says "I've lost my electron." The other says "Are you sure?" The first replies "Yes, I'm positive."

%26gt;

%26gt;5. Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root canal? His goal: transcend dental medication.

%26gt;

%26gt;6. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?", they asked, as they moved off. "Because," he said," I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer."

%26gt;

%26gt;7. A woman has identical twins and is forced to give them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're identical twins! If you've seen Juan, you've %26gt;seen Ahmal."

%26gt;

%26gt;8. A group of friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, a rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him. So, the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to "persuade" them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he'd be back if they didn't close up shop. Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that only Hugh can prevent florist friars.

%26gt;

%26gt;9. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good) a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

%26gt;

%26gt;And finally:

%26gt;

%26gt;10. There was the person who sent ten different puns to friends with the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did.

Reply:An elephant was drinking out of a river one day, when he spotted a turtle asleep on a log. So, he ambled on over and kicked it clear across the river.

"What did you do that for?" Asked a passing giraffe.

"Because I recognized it as the same turtle that took a nip out of my trunk 53 years ago."

"Wow, what a memory" commented the giraffe.

"Yes," said the elephant, "turtle recall".

The French will eat almost anything. A young cook decided that the French would enjoy feasting on rabbits and decided to raise rabbits in Paris and sell them to the finer restaurants in the city. He searched all over Paris seeking a suitable place to raise his rabbits. None could be found. Finally, an old priest at the cathedral said he could have a small area behind the rectory for his rabbits. He successfully raised a number of them, and when he went about Paris selling them, a restaurant owner asked him where he got such fresh rabbits. The young man replied, "I raise them myself, near the cathedral. In fact, I have ... a hutch back of Notre Dame.

Recently a guy in Paris nearly got away with stealing several paintings from the Louvre. However, after planning the crime, getting in and out past security, he was captured only 2 blocks away when his Econoline ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied: "I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."

Snow White received a camera as a gift. She happily took pictures of the Dwarfs and their surroundings. When she finished her first batch she took the film to be developed. After a week or so she went to get the finished photos. The clerk said the photos were not back from the processor.

Needless to say, she was disappointed and started to cry. The clerk, trying to console her, said,

"Don't worry. Someday your prints will come".

Another one...

I think getting away from home and going to college is the best thing. Time alone will really help you figure out who YOU are. Aside from that keep your true friends close to lean on. That's what they're there for! Best of luck to you!

Close to Whelping time, Do I have everything?

Ok, so I have done all the proper things in getting my girl ready for puppies including OFA,CERF,Heart, and Thyroid. Ch Sire and *****. She is day 59 today.

Have been taking her temp now 3x a day and no drop yet. I expect her to whelp over the weekend. Here is what I have ready.

Whelping Box with pig rail.

old blankets %26amp; old towels to rub down pups

puppy wee pads for the under the dam

dental floss and scissors for the cords

suction thingy

puppy formula and 1 bottle (insurance ;-0)

hot water bottle

nice quiet room with adequate heat.

calcium tablets for after she whelps

beef liver for after whelping ( I was told by my mentor to feed it raw)

directions for the 24 hour vet incase of complications after hours.

twin size mattress for me to sleep on.

Is there anything else I forgot?

She was bred on Dec 23 and 24th natural ties. Saw 4 pups on U/S but I think there may be 1-2 more. Bouv's usually have 6-8.

Bella is doing fine and pups move alot!

Lisa

Close to Whelping time, Do I have everything?
"Ready" box complete with hot water bottle just in case you have to make a dash to the ER vet with dam and pups.

Hair dryer- after I towel the pups off.. I dry them and hand back to mom.

Hemostats- clamp off a too short umbilicus (not necessary but great to have on hand).. then you can tie it (also handy when the dam decides she's going to have 3 pups in 5 minutes).

I wouldn't bother with the wee pads under the dam.. I use about 40-50 layers of newspapers (so I can pull up a few layers as needed) and a ton of towels then I just do laundry.

Edit: My favorite book- The Whelping and Rearing of Puppies by Muriel Lee... has a great explanation of slinging.
Reply:Yup looks like you've got everything covered. Check the link below to double-check.
Reply:Sounds to me like you did a lot of research to prepare for the puppies. I think you have everything you need. Not only have directions for the vet, but have a number and a phone right next to you in case you need to have him help coach you through the birth or if you have any concerns.. Congratulations on your new pups (when they're born lol).
Reply:Sounds like you have it all. How about some Valium for you? lol, you sound so excited ! You also sound like a loving dog owner. How great that she has you. She will do the work, you just have to offer support, and a helping hand if she runs into trouble. My worry wart sheltie/border collie had 8 and I only had to resuscitate one of them. She was a wonderful birth mom, and great mom for her babes. They just need our support and kind words.
Reply:You are very organised! I think you have thought of everything. Good luck with the whelping. I have been "midwife" to 8 litters of Standard Poodles over the years and have encountered few problems. Most dogs, especially large breeds, tend to have no problems whelping, but it's good to be prepared. Lucky you, love that "puppy breath"
Reply:Vet's number on speed dial.

Mentor's number on speed dial. Or better yet, can someone experienced come sit with you? I had someone come help me deliver my first litter, their help was invaluable.

Baby scale.

MORE towels. There is no such thing as too many.

Do you have a good book or two on the subject? I usually sit and re-read them while I'm waiting for pups to appear.

This one is very good:

http://www.dogwise.com/itemdetails.cfm?I...
Reply:I like kitchen towel sized towels for rubbing down puppies - not too much bulk to get in the way. And the rough towels stimulate them better.

Sounds like you're as ready as you can get. Keep the coffee maker ready... although the excitement may keep you awake just fine. :)

I use goat's milk instead of a manufactured milk replacement, but that's the only thing I'd change, and it's really a personal preference.
Reply:Sounds like you have everything in order, but pups will need to nurse off of Mom in order to get the antibioties to fight off infection especially for the first three days and thereon if at all possible.Do you know what to do in case the pups come breech birth intead of head first? If not please make sure you check on this.Your Mom expecting should have been placed on the calicum tablets 1 week in advance of whelping the pups.I also always put my pups on a heating pad set on low setting as the pups are being born, this way the pups don't get chilled.Good luck with your new litter.

For Lesbians....Just wondering...?

How many of you actually use dental dams? Your answers are much apprecitated-thanks!

for those of you who don't know.

a dental dam is like a female condom. when your eating them out or they're eating you out.
Reply:I have them, but I don't use them....
Reply:Not me i hate them
Reply:I prefer saran wrap or a piece of shower curtain
Reply:I am a lesbian trapped in a mans body/ what is a dental dam?? I can use my imanation but damn... besides why would you ask that in the first place? Are you thinking of joining or buying one?
Reply:You just place it over your partner's vagina completely and lick/suck on it like that. It's just a protective barrier for the both of you. Hope this helps.
Reply:I see by most of the responses here, no one practices safe sex. A dental Dam is a rubber square that is placed on the vagina for clitoral stimulation by tongue or finger (what ever your pleasure) as protection from actually touching the bare flesh. You can still be satisfied safely. If you can't find dental dam then you can use saran wrap. Educate yourself and be safe.
Reply:nope.
Reply:Why would you need one? Yuck!

Help please? Easy 10 points!?

I'm losing another 5 points, but only one person answered my other post.

For my Human Sexuality class, we're supposed to create a "Latexhibition" project, which in essence is just something unique that is made from latex products that protect against the organisms that cause sexually transmitted diseases (condoms, dental dams, latex gloves, etc.)

Help please? Easy 10 points!?
What a cool idea, the only problem I am having is I don't know what you could make that is unique and appropriate for a classroom.

Use a couple latex gloves make it so it looks like their holding hands take two condoms, don't unroll them, cut out the middle of each one and create "rings" use colored condoms for a cooler affect. Put the condom "rings" on the wedding ring finger of each hand. Attach the hands to a poster board that is decorated in a wedding theme that says " I'll wait for...." at the top, then at the bottom have it say "I do"

Just an idea.
Reply:So, what is your question?
Reply:Create a living latex body suit that conforms to the person wearing it. When he/she has sex then the latex expands to sheath his penis as a condom or internally lines the vagina/anus, if female or gay, to prevent STD transmission. Just an early morning sci fi suggestion.

Which disinfectant spray would be best to use when hosting a Sex Party? (BDSM)?

I need something to wipe down leather sling, spanking benches and other surfaces TO PREVENT SPREADING INFECTION.

Please tell me the active ingredient of your suggestion, not just the brand name (I'm in Australia).

Also, can you think of anything else I might need for the party I may have forgotten??

Have already got the obvious things:

- gloves

- condoms and dental dams

- lube

- sharps bin

- paper towel

- snacks and drinks

- candles, pegs, rope

- anti-bacterial handwash

- towels

- bins

??????

Thanks for all serious suggestions.

Which disinfectant spray would be best to use when hosting a Sex Party? (BDSM)?
No paddles? Or are you assuming everybody will bring their own?

Arnica might be a good idea - reduces the risk of bruising.
Reply:you forgot the penicillin !
Reply:Um, what? You can't be serious. Man I hope you have all these people medically checked out before the party. Talk about playing Russian roulette with your body a contagious diseases.
Reply:You need an Australian prison term.
Reply:use an disinfectous spray like lysol that will kill most or all virus but you can call your local clinic to ask them how to kill germs
Reply:I'd suggest you use neat Chlorhexidine (do not add water) to wipe down play equipment. It's a powerful antibacterial that is used in hospitals. Your local chemist should stock it, just wander in and ask them for it.

Make sure that all the furniture you provide for the party is in very very good condition and not worn or cracked or chipped in any way.

I'd also suggest that you ask your guests to bring their own toy bags, and to insist that they use your own toys on you (if they play with you). If you decide to play, make sure that you designate a DM (dungeon master) in your place, to watch over the other guests. There needs to be someone "watching out" for the people at the party at all times, to make sure that everything goes smoothly. As a DM, always remember to do *everything* with 100% consent (even if that is taking pictures of scening people), and make sure that the consent rule is followed by anyone participating in the party. I'd suggest that you make sure to get to really know your guests; knowing that everyone will respect consent and confidentiality and stay that way after people go back to their normal lives makes everything feel so much nicer, and allows you to relax fully.

My partner and i bring our own toybag to public gatherings, and we insist that anyone who wishes to play uses our toys on us. For most occasions, we play exclusively with each other, and with those we trust. The best play parties i've been to are ones where there is a separate, very private area for sexual activities if people wish it, and another area where people can step away from the BDSM aspects of the night and just chat and socialise. For other things for the party, i'd suggest plenty of thick blankets (or a doona or two) that you can drape over shoulders and around a body, after a scene. A submissive coming up from a subspace can get very cold due to the change in core body temperature (when i've been in a subspace, i've had to have both blankets and a heater to make me comfortable again afterwards).

Maybe do a bit of forward planning and ring your guests and ask them about things like allergies, and if they suffer epilepsy or asthma or disorders that can affect their balance or ability to be suspended for long periods of time (it is a good idea to ask all these things so as you can keep your guests 100% safe at all times, and in case something happens and you need to inform the paramedics or what not).

I truly hope all this helps you in some way, and that you have a wonderful, wonderful night :)
Reply:Wow- the person above me took the cake, but I'll just add my 2 cents...

A simple bleach solution would be VERY cheap as a disinfectant, and you could have bottles in every room/scene. It must be mixed with COLD water at the ratio of 3/4 cup to 1 gallon of water is the disinfectant level and NOT let to sit overnight (I also kept reading about a 10-1 ratio, but don't know how many cups are in a gallon :).

The major disadvantage of Chlorhexidines is that it is not the most effective against many gram negative bacteria or viruses that love water (hydrophilic). However, bleach reportedly doesn't kill chlamydia...

If there is limited exchange of bodily fluids going on (not the "hard play" of piercings, blood lettings, or whatever), then you should be safe with almost any disinfectant, as long as you dry it off with a paper towel (which also would help prevent residues from irritating any sensitive skin).
Reply:I think you need ME at your party! Can I come!?

Anyway, I would simply make up a bleach solution for spraying down equipment. That's what's always been used at the clubs/parties I go to. The challenge is in getting everyone to use it!

Anybody have any ideas for a craft using latex?

Anybody have any ideas? They're much appreciated. =]

Anybody have any ideas for a craft using latex?
I don't actually have any ideas, but you can always use liquid latex (it's sold in jars in many colors) or buy sheets of latex.

Think about something creative with balloons too.

I wish my human sexuality class was that cool when I was in school!

I'm a lesbian and I think I have oral herpes, can I still have oral sex?

Ok, I am aware that most of the population has oral herpes and I think I do to. So my question is, can I still give oral to another woman or would that lead to her getting genital herpes? Even if there was no sore present? Also, I've been hearing about using dental dams as protection besides on online, is there another place to buy them?

I'm a lesbian and I think I have oral herpes, can I still have oral sex?
They are hard to find....try drug stores (CVS in my town has them, but not Eckerds) you might have to look around - they don't stock items that don't sell before they expire %26amp; they're not a big seller!

But when you have a cold sore - don't go down on someone - or kiss them - you'll keep them safe that way
Reply:Sure you can, If you want them to get herpes too.
Reply:if u have cold sores then u have oral herpes. they are contagious so yes u can give them to another person. just don't give oral when the cold sore is there. there is less of a risk to pass it on when there is no sore but there is still a small risk. u can try adult sex shops (if your old enough) and if there is one in your area. if not u may have to buy on line.
Reply:You can still give them the herpes virus if you have oral herpes. It's best to use a dental dam and you should avoid going down on her when you have an outbreak with or without a dental dam. You can always go to the doctor and have him prescribe Valtrex. It's supposed to supress both the herpes simplex 1 and 2 virus.
Reply:yes you can give her genital herpes.

What is the difference between telling someone you have cold sores and telling gHSV-1 if they will allow oral?

It makes me CRAZY that the person I got this ridiculous virus from is not obligated to tell his partners that he gets cold sores sometimes yet I am now going to have to tell everyone I choose to be with that I have "gential herpes"

It is the SAME VIRUS and since most couples engage in oral sex (probably more frequently) as well as intercourse it seems like the telling should be the same.

If you say you have oral HSV-1 and the person allows you to perform oral on them than isn't that functionally the same as them having intercourse with a person who has HSV-1 genitally.

The only difference is the stigma and I think it is time to change that...and get dental dams in use!

What is the difference between telling someone you have cold sores and telling gHSV-1 if they will allow oral?
I agree with you so much.

I also have genital hsv-1, and the thing that really gets to me is that my boyfriend can tell people he gets cold sores, or even choose not to tell, and they don't bat an eyelid or blame him or make inferences about his sex life, while if you tell people you have genital hsv-1 they react completely differently. People can't seem to get their heads round the fact that they are the same - in fact genital hsv-1 is five times less infectious than oral hsv-1!

I have said in the past on a couple of replies that I would just tell men I got oral cold sores, and if they are prepared to receive unprotected oral sex from me knowing that risk, then that's just fine and I've covered myself. But people like to place a moral burden on you if you have genital hsv-1.

You can see that when you look up answers for cold sores and genital hsv-1 on here. Cold sores are 'just a cold sore', there is no moral obligation, and the advice is always that everyone gets them and you should just avoid contact when you have a sore, never that you are obligated to tell someone before you kiss them or perform oral on them, or that you should never have any oral contact again without using a dental dam! It is such a double standard it infuriates me. I mean, can you imagine telling someone that your prospective partner has cold sores and people advising you to run for the hills and saying that it is because he is dirty or promiscuous? Because that happens on here a lot with genital hsv-1.

I told a male friend recently that I had genital herpes. He openly confessed that he didn't have a clue what it was. I explained, I told him it was the same virus as oral cold sores, and he still told me that although he would consider it for a long term relationship, if it was anything less, or if we had been at the making out stage and I had told him, he would have run for the hills. He said it 'sounded icky' and kept on and on asking me if I would have told him before he ever laid a finger on me. Made me feel really great. Since when did cold sores elicit that response?

People seem to think it is worse 'down there' when that simply isn't true. The people who place a stigma on the genital version and not the oral simply don't have a clue what it is. Yes, people with oral herpes should tell their partners - but we shouldn't stigmatise oral herpes, as seems to be happening among some young people who are starting to make a vague connection between cold sores and genital herpes. We should just accept them both the way cold sores are accepted now - a nuisance but not a big deal.
Reply:herpes is herpes is herpes. be honest, take your antiviral meds, and use condoms.
Reply:I agree with you it is embarrassing. When I was in the Army I shared a canteen with a fellow soldier who had cold sores, I didn't notice it at the time, but now I have them. I didn't even do anything sexual to get them and when I get an outbreak I really hate leaving the house. I am even too scared to get a girlfriend just for the fact I have to tell her I get cold sores. I must have a good imune system because I do not get a bad out break, and I have only had two outbreaks since I got the virus and its already been almost 2 years.

Is it ever safe to have unprotected sex, even when married?

The reason I ask is because I just posted a question about having oral sex with my boyfriend who, like me, has never had any kind of sexual contact with anyone else. I asked about the risk factor of contracting a disease and some people understandably said that it's never smart to do even oral sex unprotected because things like hiv could be present even in virgins from non-sex scenarios.

So my question is, what about married couples (when they're not trying to concieve.) If two complete virgins who trust eachother are unsafe then it sounds like there is no safe circumstance and even married couples should never sexually exchange body fluids because there is always a potential risk.

These days, should unprotected sex only occur when trying to have a child? And all other times things like dental dams need to be used because even with someone you trust, it's possible to spread something without knowing it?

Not trying to argue for either side, just curious what people think

Is it ever safe to have unprotected sex, even when married?
Standard procedure when planning on being in a monogamous relationship with someone...get tested for everything first, then ditch the condoms if negative.
Reply:Yes, only when both sides agree to it and committed to start a family.
Reply:Interesting Q Maybe you should ask that guy down in Georgia...
Reply:wht the **** ru talking ******.
Reply:Some diseases you can be born with, however most of those are not passed sexually. passed thru needles from drugs, doctors or tattoos, if your partner has been tested and you are either on birth control or not worried about getting knocked up go for it. For one night stands or casual sex, yes use protection, more than one kind if you can, spermacide, birth control, male or female condom, etc. For someone youre with for awhile, not a big deal if they are clean. If they dont have anything, you cant get anything.
Reply:I've had doctors tell me that I shouldn't have unprotected sex with my husband (back when we were still together). I've had other doctors tell me that is paranoid unless I have cause to believe he has hepatitis or is cheating on me.

Sex is pretty scary these days...
Reply:I think as long as your both virgins and haven't had any Blood-transfusions you should be safe :~)
Reply:i think it depends really you could take pill to not get pregnant

but youd have to wear protection if you didnt want to catch nothing.

depends how much you believe in one another to trust that your each other first.

you could always both get tested before having unprotected sex.

but if you dont want a family id take the pill or something.

xx
Reply:Very strange. Are you living with Quakers or something. You can't spread HIV (or any disease for that matter) if you don't have it. Sex is safe when you know your partner. "could be present even in virgins from non-sex scenarios" Is your partner a intravenouses drug user? Virgins usually don't have HIV unless they are drug users.
Reply:If married people are monogamous there is no need for protection. If your in a long term monogamous relationship there is no need for protection other than pregnancy. Once your sure you will be with someone and no one else and they feel the same you can discontinue protection for the sake of STDS.It's unneeded if your true to each other. If you suspect your mate is seeing someone else demand it. If you are unsure if you have something , get checked before not using protection. You can also have your mate get checked just to be sure it would rest both your minds.
Reply:Safety is a personnal decision based on the practices of you and your partner. If you and your partner have NEVER had sexual RELATIONS with ANYONE, NEVER received a blood transfusion or organ transplant and NEVER done drugs then I would say that the risk of getting a STD is 0. The only issue that you have to worry about is having kids. If you do not what to use protection than you should get on birth control.
Reply:Yes things can be spread. If you 2 are truly virgins (no oral sex with anyone else) . First, you are very lucky. I suggest both partners be tested NOW and again in 6 months--married or not. My husband %26amp; I were from the sex, drugs and rock n roll age. When we married at 31 %26amp; 32 they were just starting to talk about aids or HIV. We both knew that the other had been with many since our families would disown us if we had married in 1972.We agreed if we made it 10 years with no systems we would be very blessed. This year was our 22nd anniversary and we NEVER used protection.
Reply:usually sex is part of our life, it is normal. but the question is how could we protect sex safety now a days. for those person who are commit this things you know already the consequences this action.but for the married how are in this part, we considered it as responsibilities to their spouse.
Reply:don't do the sex thing till you are married safest way to not get anything and not get pregnant now when your married unprotected sex is i think fine because your not going to get pregnant unless God wants you to. you know. besides sex is suppose to be for marriage any way if he wears a condom it takes the feeling away and if you marry him you should trust and know that he does not have anything (std) anyhow beleave me sex is so much better unprotected so much more feeling.
Reply:It's a matter of trust, really.

Lesbian safe sex?

where can I buy "latex barrier sheets"? is it specifically sold with that name? and dental dams?

Lesbian safe sex?
Glyde makes flavored dental dams that I've found to be sturdy but not so thick you can't feel anything..and the flavors are not bad, considering that it is latex. Below is a link to Amazon's sale of 12 assorted flavors/colors of Glyde dams

A little curious...?

How do lesbians engage in safe sex? Dental dams? Is there anything else used?

A little curious...?
Good question!

Lesbian sex, like all sex, should be done safely. Doesn't matter that sexually transmitted diseases have lower risks of transmission between women- the risks are still there.

Always put condoms on sex toys, and change the condoms when you change who you're using them on. If you haven't used this rule before, boil the sex toys to sterilize them (if you can), or wash them in the dishwasher or plenty of hot, soapy water before using them again. For cunnilingus (oral sex) and analingus, you're going to want to use dental dams or Saran wrap. Whenever touching the genital area, always wear gloves, and make sure not to cross-contaminate by touching yourself with infected gloves.

Hope that helps.

Be safe and happy!
Reply:I guess dams are one thing yes. Also having a shower before and after. Finding out if your partner has anything and having tests regularly. Not doing it during periods, vag problems or with cuts.

How can you practice "safe" oral sex?

I have heard to use condoms or dental dams but the idea of sucking on latex is kinda gross. I've also heard that plastic wrap can be used and it doesn't have a bad taste like latex.

Has anyone given oral sex using condoms? Do you use the lubricated ones? ewww!

How can you practice "safe" oral sex?
Condoms if you're giving a guy oral sex, dental dams or a cut-open condom or plastic wrap (NOT the microwave safe kind, that has tiny holes in it) if a girl is being given oral sex. Dont use lubricated condoms (especiall not with nonoxyl-9), as it tastes bad.

If you want to improve the flavor of plain latex, I guess a bit of honey or chocolate sauce on the outside might help!
Reply:try both and see which one you like, its totally about you, also try flavored lotions fron the sex stores they are great especially the ones that get warm.
Reply:There are such things as flavored condoms, this is your best bet because they protect, while giving you motivation (by the good taste). Don't let people change your mind by telling you they taste bad, just try it for yourself, if you don't like it then cool (the same people who tell you they taste bad are the people who don't give head because they think its nasty but have never tried it).
Reply:Flavored ones or try throwing some listerine in your mouth first!
Reply:The only real way to practice safe oral sex is to be in a good monogomous relationship. There is no better sex than that you can have with a person you dearly love and know is monogomous with you. No worries about disease or other situation. When I am eating sweet sweet poozle I really love to go at it and really knock my lady out. Dealing with lotions, creams, and plastic would just ruin it. By the way. . .I am SIRLYCALOT. I graduated "Maker Cuum Lauder" from the French Institute of Cunnilingus. I had a perfect GPA of 6.9 baby. . Oh yeah. . .. my lady calls me creme de menthe. . . because I am one hell of a fine Liquer... Oh yeah!

How young do you fell is too young to have sex?

personaly i think that if both parties are aware of the risks they're taking and take the appropriate precautions(condoms, dental dams, birth contral if nessasary)then go for. if you get std's/pregnant its your fault...you ****** up...you suffer the consiquences

How young do you fell is too young to have sex?
I think over 15 is good. Below that the physiology just doesnt work right.
Reply:I duno Im still a virgin.
Reply:i dont know what age particularly but i believe people should wait until they get married.
Reply:too young when you have to ask on yahoo answers,,, no really too young when you think your in love, too young when your still in school, too young if your not making enough income to support that possible child. If you really think about it, no form of protection is 100% guaranteed, so ev erytime you have sex there is that possibility of a child or stds. Your too young to have sex if either of those alarm you. IF you can handle that, its your choice, but why rush and be too young?
Reply:I wouldnt know, maybe 18 plus
Reply:i would say to wait until your married, but if you dont do that the wise thing would probably be to wait at least until after 18...all that stuff you use for protection is never 100%...and no one wants to end up with a kid at 15...at least wait until your ready for any responsibility that may come with it.
Reply:It's the kid that suffers.

just wear one and be safe

omg thats wierd

If he doesn't, no need to do the "job". Dental dams do work but are a lot harder to use than condoms.
Reply:ive never seen a dental dam but people who have cold sores should use them if they dont want to give the mans manhood herpes ,

i knows if guys used condoms i would give bjs

but they never seem to want to wear them for sex

so i dont think theyd want to wear one for a bj but without a condom for oral im not sure how you would prevent stds
Reply:guys don't wear condoms when they get blow jobs. if you don't want an STD from giving a ********, ask the guy or just don't give him one.

People tell me that my lifestyle will result in STDs. I am careful(protection, etc) Is it still possible?

I am younger and very sexually active, and many people, including my parents, tell me I will die of an std. I use protection(condoms, dental dams, etc) and get screenings every 7 months, is there really that much of a risk?

People tell me that my lifestyle will result in STDs. I am careful(protection, etc) Is it still possible?
i'd keep it to more of a serial monogamy thing, like one girl at a time, and make sure you know she was tested within the last year like women should be. use that protection every time. even if her pap came back clean, like mine always did, she could have a latent HPV infection, like i did. i thought i was clean and probably gave my infection to a few partners.

just picking up girls in bars is probably a bad idea, because you can't exactly grill her on her sexual history. i'd develop some sort of relationship where you can ask these questions before having intimate contact.

HIV/AIDS is rare and frail, so it is hard to catch. that doesn't give you any guarantees, it just means you don't have to worry as much as some people do. it isn't that common. now, hep C is more common and also kills people and there is no cure, it just gets less publicity. be very, very careful about hep C. about 1-2% of the population has it, much higher than HIV.

prostitutes who use protection and wash themselves and their partners before and after sex have the same STD rate as the general population, and in some cases, lower. that shows how good protection is. also, australia is the most sexually active country in the world, and has the lowest HIV/STD rates in the world. this is because they use condoms.

if i'd used condoms, there is a much less likely chance i'd have the HPV i have (though it is a toss-up on whether or not condoms can always protect against HPV) that i had to get surgery for. i also have a couple of bumps on my vulva that i suspect are warts and i am going to see the MD soon about it. never, ever will i have unprotected sex again!!!
Reply:"Protection" does not protect against some STDs, and some of it can also fail -- though the failure rate is low, statistically at least one condom will break on you at some point in your life.

the STDs that condoms and other barrier-type protection don't prevent are rarely deadly, though, and in fact most STDs aren't really deadly. It's the risk anyone takes being sexually active with many partners. And people do die of some of these illnesses, even after taking precautions. How lucky do you feel?
Reply:It is still a risk..because even though you use protection..they can still rip...and diseases can still pass...because say your partner has the STD on the outside of her genitals...(the lips of labia)...and it touches you...you can still contract something!!...but the good thing is that you are being tested...but to be safer..just ask at the place you get tested...if you could get tested more often than 7 months!
Reply:YES YOU PROBABLY WILL GET A STD. CONDOMS BREAK, DENTAL DAMS BREAK. YOU NEED TO CHILL OUT BEFORE YOUR IN A COMMERICAL ON BET FOR WRAP IT UP BECAUSE YOU HAVE CAUGHT HIV....SEX IS GREAT BUT IS IT THAT SERIOUS? IF YOUR SEXIN' THAT MUCH YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR EVERY OTHER MONTH!!! DON'T SELL YOUR SELF SHORT LISTEN TO YOUR FAMILY AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU KNOW THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH!!! LIKE 1 IN 5 GOT HERPES AND DONT KNOW IT...LIKE 80-90% OF POPULATION GOT HPV...EVERY SECOND SOMEONE DIES OF AIDS....CHILL OUT PLEASE OR AT LEAST START TO PUT SOME MONEY A SIDE FOR YOUR FUNERAL.....XOXOXO
Reply:You might get screened, but do your partners get screened? No protection is 100% guaranteed. Condoms can burst and herpes is a disease that you can still get even with protection. http://www.cdc.gov/std/Herpes/STDFact-He...

The truth is we have to be very careful when we choose a partner. It really does not matter how many people you sleep with either. A woman/man that only sleeps with their spouse can get AIDS from a cheating spouse. You have to be very careful. You need to consider the fact that some diseases don't show up for years. You can't trust just anyone. I would suggest that you take your partner with you when you get tested before sleeping with them.
Reply:Well it all depends. If you meet girls and start dating them and bang the same one out every day for months, that's no big deal. But if your sexual activity mainly consists of meeting girls at the bar, taking them back and just one night standing it, the risks are higher.

If you use proper protection, the risk of serious things like HIV and other incurable STD's are low, but you run a very high risk of ending up with something like HPV, bouts of the clap or chlamydia.

It's your call, but everytime you have sex with a new person whose sexual history is a mystery to you, your odds of staying healthy start to close up.
Reply:DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS "GHOST" PERSON.

YES...you are taking extreme risks. I'm not saying you are going to die from an STD but your chances, with your sexual behavior, of contracting one is high.

There is no 100% method of protecting against STD except for abstinence. Condoms can fail (break, slip off). Since you are so sexually active, you should be screened for all STDs every 3 months at minimum.

I urge you to sit back and think about what you are doing. Are you having sex with multiple partners? When you do that, you are not only having sex with the, but with everyone they have slept with also. It's called a Domino Effect.

You need to start taking your current and future health into consideration. The sexual playground is NOT a safe place to play anymore. I hope you change your ways and stay healthy. Is sex really worth your life? Your future fertility? Your self-respect?

Lesbians and bi gals do you practice safe sex with new partners?

Do you use dental dams, gloves, wash your toys and put condoms over them when you have sex with a new partner and get tested regularly?

I really hate dams for giving and receiving. Even the flavored ones since I enjoy the taste of you know what and it seems to repress all the good feelings for me. And I don't really care for gloves. But my toys are clean and always covered. I get tested every 3 months, it's a habit I developed from my hetero days.

What say you, if you aren't shy about sharing personal details?

Lesbians and bi gals do you practice safe sex with new partners?
I don't particularly like dams either, but I use them none the less. Gloves can be a bit of a bother, but I don't want any diseases. And yes, the toys are always clean and covered. I get tested as well. No need to die for being silly.
Reply:I used to, when I was single...every time too.

But since my partner and I have been together and completely monogamous for over ten years...we don't feel the "need" as much....but hey, sometimes it can actually be fun!
Reply:Wow. I never stopped to think of how complicated having sex has become - married 20 years. Apologies for butting in where I'm not wanted, but I learned something here.

Dental procedures Questions on treatment?

i went to the dentist and this is what he recomended me to get by an endontist. I have a sheet of paper to give to him. it saysthat i will be benifited w/ rubber dam usone on teeth 8 and 9 restore teeth 8 and 9 when doing rct for 6 pt would orefer this. rct and crown on 7

i no i have root canl but idk that other stuff .

im pretty nervous.. i never had one b4

also they said they canot put me to sleep.i wish they could cause im real worried.do u think they can give some pills before to help me deal with the fear i guess....... should i look around for an endodontsit that does do that?

Dental procedures Questions on treatment?
These procedures are fine with a local anesthetic. You shouldn't have much pain afterwards. I've had four root canals, and they're the most uncomfortable. Getting a crown is nothing (I have eight).
Reply:There are dental clinics that are willing to "knock you out" for just about any procedure. It comes at a high price though. I cannot stand the dentist and I am IV sedated for any major procedures...you're not asleep but believe me you don't know anything happening around you. You could always get the gas, that works too. Hunt around for a dentist that suits your needs.
Reply:if you are asking about a root canal, don't worry. They will have to give you novacaine to numb the area, all they do is get the dead root out of your tooth. The great thing about this is it saves your natural tooth. They will go in your tooth and again it will be NUMB and then they will put something in there to keep it in place. I just remember it looked rubbery when I had mine done. The root canal I had lasted 8 years. Other than the needle pinching, I swear it does not hurt a bit !
Reply:You can find an endodonist that will give you sedation. Some people have sedation for cleaning, it's better than not going just because you have a fear of dental procedures. It's done all the time and believe me, no practioner is going to lose business because he says his procedures are painless. The best way to lose a patient is to promise them that it isn't going to hurt, and then hurt them and say, " Oh, would you like some sedation?" Shop around. Some people are more sensitive and anxious than others and a real professional realizes this.
Reply:The numbers 8 and 9 are the two front teeth and it sounds like they are going to do a root canal on tooth # 7 which is your right tooth next to your two front teeth and they are going to put a crown on it. hope this helps
Reply:Did your dentist not refer you to a specific endodontist? Usually you are given several names to chose from. Root canal treatment is not painful. It does take a little time. You might have a consult appointment to discuss some sort of pre-medication to calm you.

Since this is your two front teeth, you definitely need to do this.

SERIOUS QUESTION: Can you get any type of disease from having oral sex without a condom or mouth guard?

My friend told me that she gave oral sex for the first time and the guy that she gave it to didn't wear a condom and she didn't have any mouth guard/dental dam...She kept saying how it was safe and she wasn't going to get anything because he didn't ejaculate in her mouth [I know vulgar...Sorry! I've known the guy for a long time and he is a manwhore and has slept with lots of girls she knows this as well] But I think In fact I'm almost positive that isn't true. Am I right? If so what kind of diseases can she get? I tried to tell her but she's hard headed and thinks she's always right! [I KNOW this is in the P %26amp; S section but the STD section is deserted...No one will answer]

SERIOUS QUESTION: Can you get any type of disease from having oral sex without a condom or mouth guard?
herpes can be easily passed through the activities you described. and that's for life, no cure! HIV is harder to pass, but not impossible. here are two sites for you to look at, and share with your friend. the unfortunate thing is that so many people think oral sex is safe and also that they are somehow immune to the possibility of STDs...when in reality they are engaging in totally unsafe behaviours and most STDs are for life. respect yourself, be safe!

Extreme tooth pain?

I had a filling replaced (for the third time) and a cavity drilled last week. The teeth were right next to each other. I was given five shots of novacaine, but all that wore off before they even started drilling. They had to use a dental dam and put bands around the tooth. I had the worst migraine of my life, and it still hurts to even chew on those teeth.

Extreme tooth pain?
for the mean time try putting some freshly ground pepper directly on the gums of the tooth that hurts....this will dull the pain for only a few minutes....you will need to keep doing it....also use orajel and if thats not available you can try using a sore throat spray

or you just deal with the nausea the pain killers bring rather than the pain of a toothache

ive had two kids and would rather be in labor again than have to deal with the pain that the toothaches bring

Reply:Try to massage back of the hands between the bones (metacarpals), and take Echinacea. You can find Echinacea in vitamin section. Also, massage the shoulder, back and top of the neck, head, forehead, top of the nose, face, front of the ears, around the mouth (take it easy on this area), side of the neck, and top of the chest to ease the pressure. The pain should go away soon.
Reply:Take warm salt water and swish it around in your mouth for about 10 seconds...and spit it out! Do this about three times a day! I would call your dentist soon and tell them what is going on! There is prolly a fracture in the cavity and any pressure you put on the tooth is going straight to the root...which is understandable for it to be painful! If the novacaine wore off before they started to drill on the tooth! Tell your dentist! They gotta be able to give you more! I used to work in a dental office...and everytime the patient could feel the pain...the patient would get another shot of novacaine! good luck hun!

Why are lesbians so shy of safe sex?

av yet to meet a lesbian who would use a dental dam, or use a condom on a sex toy. why are we so prissy about lesbian safe sex? the lads have to do it, so shouldn't we?

mind, my memory isn't that good these days....

Why are lesbians so shy of safe sex?
I already see a lot of good answers posted before mine. some excellent asnwers actually.

In part, I hear from a lot of my lesbian friends that dental dams would have been better named as "too damn smalls" or "too damn thicks" they have a reputation for dulling sensations as well as being a hassle to keep in place due to their inadequate size. i once heard someone saying they wanted to develope a helmet with a face section that could hold a dental damn and keep it from slipping *chuckles*

I would also like to call the media into account. When one watches a movie about sex, at least in the US, more often than not scenes of safer sex practices are not included in the script. not that there are never safer sex scenes because there are.. As far as lesbian themed movies i've watched (and yes, i've seen quite a few) i have witnessed zero scenes of safer sex practices.

somebody mentioned cucumbers. i would like to say, if you are going to use a cucumber, use a condum. cucumbers have pesticides that can affect a body's ph level and cause infections or worse.

Condoms on toys are very good thinking. many toys are made of silicon which has pourous (sp?) surfaces that germs and bacteria can hide in even when toy washing occurs.

As for STD's, lesbians, or women who sleep with women, are indeed the lowest risk for STD's however, women in general are at high risk because their bodies create an ideal incubation spaces for all sorts of STD's. Even some lesbians have had intercourse with males and may contract something. 95% of all cervical cancer is actually a form of HPV that remains nearly undetectable until cancer cells appear. these 95% of cases happen because males do not show signs of this type of HPV as far as i know, and once their bodies contract if from a female, they can spread it to every (or some) female(s) they have unprotected sex with after that.

Also, Herpes (cold sores, fever blisters, etc) are on the rise. a few years ago i heard that there were more than 20,000 new outbreaks a year in the US alone. mind you, these numbers have most likely changed but who knows which direction, up or down, they changed in.

The good news is, I do know lesbians who practice safer sex. And i know that they have good communication skills with their partner(s) in that they talk about their bodies, sex, and health with one another. Talking about bodies, sex, and health is a very healthy thing to do and can help create an atmosphere where one feels safe and welcome to talk about and suggest safer sex practices.
Reply:Errrr. no idea. Are they shy of safe sex?
Reply:There is no such thing as safe sex.
Reply:my ex gf from years ago used to put condoms on the cucumbers.hope it wasnt so she could still use them in a salad.ive used a dental dam but it was like eating a sandwich still in its packet
Reply:cant knock them, how many lads wash there hands before they slip a few digits down south with the fems?safe sex with lesbians is not getting caught while getting the ride off a bloke with the gal friend knowing, thats it.
Reply:I'm shy of sex, period. I did a lot of dumb things, when I thought I was straight, and thankfully, the only thing that happened was that I got pregnant. Now, I know better. I've been celibate since the start of this year, and I have no plans to break it any time soon. I'm waiting a long, long time before I trust somebody enough to make love to her, and since I'm not seeing anyone right now, it'll be a long, long, loooong time before I trust somebody that much, anyway.
Reply:Generally lesbians are indeed the lowest sexual risk group, but this doesn't keep us completely safe. Anytime bodily fluids are exchanged there is a certain level of risk involved.

I don't know why more lesbians aren't engaging in safe sex practices. Those I've known usually have. Most lesbian sexual predators that I've known all practice safe sex. But lesbian sexual predators is a very small group. Most lesbians don't see themselves as predators.

Now, I'm not talking about the kind of predator that means criminally predatory, but more so the aggressive types who are more concerned about how much sex they can get, rather than those who are preoccupied with finding a mate, a long-term relationship.
Reply:You are right, I haven't met a lesbian yet who follows safer sex practices... and I have to admit that I have been guilty of it in the past myself. (I have been in a committed monogamous relationship now for over 8 years, so I guess all our sex is safe!)

I believe the reason for that is because of the much lower incidence of STDs in the lesbian community, along with the lower rates of transmission, as compared with STD infection and transmission rates in the gay and heterosexual communities.

That doesn't make it right or smart, but I think that may be the truth of the matter.
Reply:Using dental dam is like having sex through a crisp packet
Reply:There is no verified case of a lesbian getting aids or any other std from another lesbian. The only one I know of is herpes. We do not exchange bodily fluids sexually, so I guess women feel safe and don't want to be bothered.
Reply:it is hard to pass std's with 2 chicks. It can happen but is rare.Only way is ti swap bodily fluids.
Reply:i know what u mean! no lesbians i know use safe sex protection, and i dont really either. with all the diseases going around these days, i better start being more careful
Reply:Well guys have to have safe sex because the HIV transmission between males is really really easy. For women, there has never been a confirmed case of female to female sexual transmission of HIV.

Plus dental dams don't do jack against HPV (gen warts) or herpes.

So it is largely unnecessary to do it, and largely ineffective when they do.
Reply:I'm not shy of safe sex. I just got my wife checked before we ever had sex. So since we're clean, we don't need to practice safe sex.

As for using dental dams, their not exactly user friendly or nice to taste. I have tried but I don't like them.

Condoms are much more easier to use on toys and (sorry to say it) make them easier to clean.

I don't think it's about us being "prissy" I just think its ease, and half the fun is the taste, texure, smell..........all of which is lost if you've got a piece of cling film covering you face and any way that you can breathe safely!

Recommendations on flavored lube?

My lover is very finicky with the thought of performing cunninglingus, but has agreed to try it with a dental dam and flavored lube. So my question is...what are the best tasting lubes out there? We want something that is not too sticky, and something that will not stain.

Recommendations on flavored lube?
And the next time he wants oral, make him wear a condom.

Tell him from me, women taste great.

If he wants artificial flavor give him a fruit gum just before he goes down.
Reply:The ID-Juicy Lubes are great. There are several different flavors to choose from. There are also Doc's Cocktails several different flavors, then you have Sex Sweet Lubes, System Jo, and Wet has quite a few different flavors. There are so many good tasting ones out there. This site also has several different flavored dental dams to choose from as well. Free shipping on orders over $49.95 and a free gift with any order over $17. Should check it out. Put flavored lube in the search, there are tons to choose from. All the ones I mentioned are quite tasty.

Is safe sex still intimate?

I want to practice safe sex everytime but does it ruin the intimacy of it? What if you have an sti and have a long term relationship with your partner using safe sex while they don't have an sti do you think they get tired of having to always use gloves, condoms and dental dam? Would they it cause problems having to use it all the time after being together for several years or they would love you no matter what?

I think I have genital warts from a drunken accident now i feel like dirty and because its uncurable will women still want to be with me?

My self esteem has just plumeted I need some reencouragement

Is safe sex still intimate?
You need to see a doctor for those warts and until then, stick to your condoms, my friend!

"Don't be a fool, wrap your tool!!!"

No, condoms don't ruin intimacy. I do like it better without but seriously, it's not that big a deal... and unsafe-sex is not worthit
Reply:Safer sex is just as intimate unless you build it up in your mind that it's going to be terrible.

HPV is an extremely common STI - in fact a lot more people have it than don't. Often there are no symptoms.

You can have any visible warts removed by a doctor. Provided they don't come back, you'll be in the clear. It's still possible to transmit the virus to another person, but the risk is substantially lower with no visible symptoms.

HPV is not curable, per se, but it is a virus that resides only locally within the skin that it has infected. Once symptomatic tissue has been removed or destroyed, the virus stays latent in deeper layers of skin. It can come back, but it often does not.

Current thought is that if you remain asymptomatic for 10 years your body has effectively expelled the virus. After this length of time your skin has grown and turned over so many times it will have pushed any dormantly infected tissue out.

Don't freak out too much. This is something that just about everyone has, even if they don't know it.
Reply:I don't think it ruins the intimacy. STI's go away with treatment, STD's don't. Genital warts is an STD that will never go away. The good thing is that if you don't currently have a break out, or feel like you are getting one, there is a good chance that you wont pass it on to someone that doesn't have it if you have unprotected sex, BUT there is still a chance. If someone truly loves you, something like that wont matter at all. The big thing is to have the talk about it BEFORE you have sex at all, and let them make the decision....then if they want info, you can invite them to go to the doctor with you, and be able to ask their own questions.

I really wouldn't worry or have low self esteem because of it. Stuff happens, and if you think about it, the statistics are that 1 in 4 people have it, and 2 out 4 come in contact with it in their life time.
Reply:i would hope not. if u can think of ways to make it more fun. it might change the way sex feels but it shouldn't take away the intamacy. i have genital herpes and feel your pain i have my "dirty feeling" days too. all i do is think that i'm not alone because other people have this too and some suffer worse than i do.

Ladies only please!!! look in detail box for actuall question!!!?

My q is out of curiosity but im just wondering if niether you or ur gf had an std would u still use a dental dam or any other type of protection?

Ladies only please!!! look in detail box for actuall question!!!?
I would have to see some test results, word of mouth does nothing for me. But to answer the question, no I would not use dental dam, because I don't perform oral sex, so there would be no need to.
Reply:To quote Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In The World, "It's like using a dental dam; it's a good idea, but nobody ever does it."

assuming both me and my girlfriend were pretty sure we didn't have anything, I wouldn't use one.

What are the chances I contracted HIV from this encounter?

Okay, I made a really stupid decision and now I really regret it. I think I put myself at risk for contracting HIV. It was really stupid. I know.

Now I just need to find out how likely it is that I contracted HIV.

I was traveling in a third world country last week. I went to a pick up bar with working girls, and I had sex with one of them. She was a 28 year old black woman. In this country AIDS is a problem and I'm sure that the rate is higher among working girls. She gave me oral sex WITH a condom on and we had sex WITH a condom on. The condom never broke. If I'd just left it at that I probably would have been fine, because condoms usually prevent these things from spreading. But I made the stupid decision to perform oral sex on her, and for a long time too, since she really liked it. But in retrospect that was really stupid of me because it was unprotected oral sex...no dental dam or anything. I don't think I had any cuts inside my mouth. What are the chances I get HIV from this?

What are the chances I contracted HIV from this encounter?
damn dude, I don't know what to say? you should probaly get tested for the disease, but man, you are nasty %26amp; that's disgusting. This woman is a whore and imagine all the guys this lady has been with. YUCK! If she had warts or herpes, I think you can get that in your mouth. But I don't think HIV. Just go to your doctor and get tested.
Reply:that would depend on if she were HIV positive or not. the only way you can know for sure is to get tested now and then 6 months from now. then you can get tested 6 months later. if you're clear after a year, you probably won't get it from that. and don't have unprotected sex. besides, going down on a "working girl" as you say is just kind of nasty.
Reply:You should now get tested every 6 months for the next 10 years!! Because that is sometimes how long it will take to show up on a test!!

P.S. That is really nasty giving oral sex to someone who more than likely just ******* someone before you crawled on her!!
Reply:I agree with the first person. Going down on a working girl?

HSV - 1, oral sex question?

Please DO NOT ANSWER IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE A SOURCE OF INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!(Read this again please, then read it one more time)

Ok. Now like 60+% of Americans I have HSV - 1 in my mouth. Not from oral sex, but most likely from a toothbrush. I do realize that if it ever was the case, and the woman was aware, I should use a dental dam, as well as be on suppressive medication (with no oral while sores are there).

The QUESTION is, somehow I doubt this would help, but combining the 2 methods with rinsing my mouth out with some 50/50 Rubbing Alcohol (Or the equivalent of something else that is shown to kill viral cells), decrease the chance of transmission.

HSV - 1, oral sex question?
Hey here is a good source of information on the topic. it's more like 80-90% have HSV1 and only like 10-20% know it....plus you can't get HSV1 from a toothbrush. Maybe from kissing someone that has it, or oral sex....but not a toothbrush.
Reply:the only time u could perform oral and kiss is if u have no sores no if and or buts about goto the dr's unless u already have to find out for sure that is what u have u maybe worry about nothing u can get cold sores from other things and they just go away and never come back ie:cold or fever
Reply:no...because the virus is ON YOUR SKIN...not in your mouth!

you only need to take Valtrax daily if you get more than 2 outbreaks a year...also there is a blood test now to determine if you have herpes 1 or 2...but FYI you can get either 1 or 2 on your mouth and/or on your genitals

it sounds to me like you have CANKER SORES...if they are white and painful INSIDE YOUR MOUTH like on your gums or on the inside of your cheek- they are not herpes and NOT CONTAGIOUS!!...a cold sore will form on your lip or around the outside of your mouth..and in some cases people get them on their nose.

good luck...and if your worried go see a DR and get a blood test!
Reply:Have you actually tested positive for hsv1? If you haven't, ask your doc for a type specific IgG herpes blood test.

And Neea is right - you don't get it from a toothbrush. IF you have it, most likely you were infected as a child, like most people are. A lot of people don't realize that cold sores are infectious, and that's how its spread.

And no - IF you have hsv1, there isn't any need to use anything like alcohol to help lower the risk of transmission.

IF you have it, and are that concerned, you could take an antiviral, such as valtrex or acyclovir, to help supress it and cut your shedding rates.

p.s. Hi Neea!! ;)

Can you get any type of disease from having oral sex without a condom or mouth guard?

Can you get any type of disease from having oral sex without a condom or mouth guard?
To put it bluntly, she just "mouthed" any disease he may have!
Reply:if that person has something, you can deffinately get it.
Reply:Cold sores (herpes simplex) and HIV for starters...
Reply:She can get Herpes.
Reply:yes!
Reply:eww herpes for one!!!
Reply:herpes and aids for sure. dont know about the others.
Reply:Herpes. Oral fungus. Infections. The list goes on...
Reply:she can get alot of stuff Shyphillis (SP)is a main one
Reply:It is possible to contract a lot of diseases if he is not wearing a condom if you have an open sore in your mouth or even if you just brushed your teeth a little hard and made your gums bleed.
Reply:Um... yes. It's no different than vaginal sex except it's a mouth.
Reply:Herpes. and i think there is something else, but it's not as bad.
Reply:Well, definately herpes. Why take the chance? You have herpes for life. There are probably other ones but that's the only one I can think of right now.Oh, aids too.
Reply:I think your friend could get cold sores if he has gential herpes...
Reply:Yes. And there are various diseases you can get including HIV, herpes, warts and more.
Reply:Herpes, definitely.
Reply:maybe she will get HIV,then the other disease i forgot tem
Reply:let's just put it this way...u have precum which contains whatever disease he may or may not have..all it needs to come in contact with is a mucous membrane which usually consists of a vagina, mouth, eye or nose...and bada bing diseased! So umm esp if she has a cut or anything in her mouth..dang
Reply:lots of nasty stuff would have been worth if he had though__
Reply:My answer would be yes it is possible for her to get a disease, IF he had AIDs and had a small sore on himself and she had a small mouth sore she could be infected (blood to blood) There are lots of diseases out there, especially the risks would be higher on someone who has slept around.
Reply:Any place that can germinate, stay warm and incubate, has potential.
Reply:If he has it, she can get it.
Reply:Yes she can get diseases from giving oral sex. There is herpes, which is the most common one.
Reply:yes, you can. You can get very embarrassing warts all over your lips and mouth and that's just the beginning. eww..
Reply:you can get oral Harpies what ever else they may have I think I would be more careful where I would be putting my mouth
Reply:Many people engage in unprotected oral sex, and are particularly concerned with the risks associated with not using protection.

What are the risks:

Herpes is probably the biggest STD risk during oral sex. Both strains of herpes can live in the mouth or the genitals, and particularly during outbreaks (cold sores, herpes lesions) can be passed from one place to the other. Many people have oral herpes, more than 50% of a random group of people will have antibodies to the virus (indicating some level of infection). Having oral herpes for most people is no big deal, a cold sore during times of stress or illness is usually little more than an annoyance. Genital herpes can be more complicated and uncomfortable, but there are treatments (see Herpes Fact Sheet for more info). Care should be taken so that oral herpes are not passed to anyone’s genitals. In general it is not a good idea to have unprotected oral sex while any lesions are present.

Chlamydia and gonorrhea can infect your throat, strep like symptoms, and are curable with antibiotics. These can also infect the eye, and though rare, eye infections can have serious consequences, so be careful with fluids.

HIV can be passed through unprotected oral sex, but it is more likely to be passed during unprotected penetrative sex. The infected semen/precum or vaginal fluid must enter the body through a cut or sore in the mouth or esophagus. The virus is unlikely to be passed from a person’s mouth to another person’s genitals.

HPV can be passed during oral sex, but it is rare. HPV has been found on vocal chords.

Syphilis can be passed similar to HIV. Syphilis is curable.

Hepatitis A is a risk particularly in oral-anal sex, and people engaging in this unprotected might want to look into getting a Hep A vaccine. Hep A is not a chronic condition like Hep B and C, but can make a person quite sick several weeks.
Reply:there iss no such thing as 100% safe sex ( oral or not )
Reply:Yes, she can get any number of STDs from having any kind of unprotected sex.

If he has herpes, she can definately get that. Just because he didn't ejaculate doesn't mean that he didn't transfer any fluid to her. There is pre-ejaculate, and that is basically the same as ejculate.
Reply:hiv, aids, sores , in short any communicable diseas if one of the partners is effect. if they are both health, without any disear, then no problem.
Reply:Yes. You are correct.

Think (and reason with your friend) this way:

Some STDs are transmitted thru body fluids. They travel in fluid. If you exchange body fluids--Mother Nature doesn't care which kind--with another person, you are taking their body fluid with all it contains into your body to circulate thru your systems: diseases included.

It's just that simple.
Reply:yes it's possible to contract some type of oral infection think about it you poop and pee there and probably don't wash after everytime

Biology Human Sexuality Project?

Create a poster designed to promote use of latex barrier devices. Feel free to use your imagination. Requirements are as follows:

1) Artwork must depict some type of latex barrier device (condom, dental dam, gloves, etc.)

2) Message, implicit or explicit, should encourage individuals to use latex barrier devices.

3) Adhere to University Student Code of Conduct; no unnecessary profanity or graphic representations

any suggestions or ideas? its a poster project and i nee to use photoshop.

Biology Human Sexuality Project?
How about a group of killer bees, simulating a virus or a std and a man wearing the latex body suit. He is standing next to an idiot that has 1000 bee stings that didn't wear the suit.

Help please?

What are the materials needed in a dental dam procedure?

Help please?
There is a frame ( goes on the outside of the mouth and holds the rubber dam material in place ) There is also a clamp which goes around the tooth. Also needed is a puncher to punch the hole into the dam material, and the rubber dam material itself. There are also a little pair of plier type things...this is used to place the clamp around the tooth that is to be exposed during the procedure. If more than one tooth is involved, then several clamps are used on each anchor tooth.

Herpes and foreplay?

I've been recently diagnosed with genital herpes. It's been a while since I've had sex due to the diagnosis and am wanting to see if I'm ready again.

I have always enjoyed oral sex as foreplay but am not liking the idea of a dental dam. What do others do, with genital herpes, as foreplay? Some ideas please?

Herpes and foreplay?
I have genital herpes, but I do have hsv-1 not hsv-2, and hsv-1 usually causes oral herpes. Personally, I have not changed anything. Oral sex has never been my thing in a big way, but I haven't started using protection for it with my boyfriend. The way I see it, the only thing they are going to get from giving oral sex is a cold sore, or oral herpes, and they are risking that every single time they kiss someone, so why worry about it? And 80% of people have oral herpes anyway, so they can't catch hsv-1 again and are very unlikely to catch hsv-2 on top of their hsv-1. Don't worry about it so much.
Reply:if you do not want to contaminate people you might want to avoid that . when your shedding the dental dam will not work. you can still pass the virus even with condom.
Reply:tell him to lie still ,and that you are about to use him as a dildo and tell him to shut up .if he dosent like that then hes not a keeper .
Reply:Please always use a condom. and I wouldnt have sex during a outbreak just to be safe.

To get more related information about this problem, you can check my personal herpes blog at: http://www.positivesingles.com/blog/hgir...
Reply:TAKE YOUR MEDS. TELL HIM THAT YOU HAVE IT SO THAT HE CAN MAKE THE DECISION TO GO FURTHER AND ALSO THAT HE DOESNT GET A SURPRISE AFTER PERFORMING ORAL ON YOU. IF YOU DONT HAVE IT IN YOUR MOUTH, YOU CAN STILL HAVE ORAL BUT HE SHOULDNT BE PERFORMING ON YOU ESPECIALLY IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE AN OUTBREAK OR ARE GETTING ONE.

Is unprotected cunnilingus safe?

Under these circumstances.

1) No cut in your mouth

2) You don't have a sore throat

3) Female is not menstruating.

Some ppl say no, and some doctors say yes. The doctors say it is very rare to catch HIV or other forms of STD from cunnilingus, except herpes. But herpes are rare anyway.

Does anyone know? Well..Using a dental dam seems like a big turn-off.

Is unprotected cunnilingus safe?
u dont get hiv from wat u describe, there has to be vaginal anal penetration or needle sharing! AS for the person above who posted that, hit the books and do some research! small cuts on vaginal area or where ever dont get the virus in, hiv virus is very fragile and when it touches oxygen it becomes unable to infect. The virus has to be inside the body in order to infect, and even then its hard! Most people who get infected have sex numerous times with the person that is infected, a single vaginal sex encounter for a man is 1 in 2000 and for a woman is 1 in 400, anal sex is riskier 1in 100 for bottom and 1in 1000 for top the one giving it. as for the person above who answered before me, seriously why do u answer questions that u have little information about. The only thing that i agreed with wat u said is that herpes isnt rare infact 80% of population have it. Relax it isnt that big of a deal, its also difficult to cath from a single encounter, especially from the one that u stated. There has to be rubbing in the skin so the virus goes in, if it just touches it that wont do. i also agree u can get it even if u dont see visible sores or anything, but its rare to get it like that because when a person sheds the virus without visible sores or herpes signs it is called asymptomatic shedding but dont worry this only occurs 5% of the time in a year. So basically your at a verry low risk for herpes but if u got it u would most likely see symptoms because your a male, women tend to act differently they tend to be the ones that are asymptomatic, is it because they are stronger? i have no idea but there lucky hehe. Look go to www.aidsmeds.org its a great site for hiv+ people and for those who believe that they have it. U can go put up what u think is a risk and the will tell u if its a low risk, no risk or high. its isnt high so dont worry its either low or no risk. Im going with the no risk cuz there wasnt penetration.

i hope i was of some help i had a tough experience and i went over it and since then i have made a commitment to become a doc and/councel people. If u need some advice add me on msn messenger jedispiderman@Msn.com i was relieved i was negative but wat i did didnt put me at risk i was just naive since then ive been learning all i can so i dont get a bite in the *** from ignorance, in other words i got lucky.
Reply:there is still a chance to get an infection, even HIV could be passed this way, there are often small cuts that you cannot see from something as simple as brushing your teeth. The woman does not have to be menstruating to pass on HIV, secretions can carry the virus. Your best bet is to use protection if you do not know your partners history. Dental dams, a cut condom, or even saran wrap could be used to protect you. Herpes is not a rare as you seem to think, many people have it have don't know it and it can be passed without a break out.
Reply:Lets give this the simple answer NO any sexual contact is not safe. I mean seriously your touching a sexual organ what do you think will happen? If you touch a sexual organ and they have an std you will be exposed to that std It sucks I know I love the cunnilingus as much as the next guy but if you come in contact with an std you are at risk.including hiv which is a little different than other stds like hpv which you can get in the mouth or throat and herpes which is very commonly transmitted though genital to mouth contact. you should learn more about it before you do it at http://yourstdhelp.com
